Empties - Volume 1

I love seeing other peoples empties posts, so thought I would jump on the band waggon and do my own one. Although all the things that are empty this time round are pretty boring! I'm not going to do these every month, as I don't feel I go through that much stuff, mainly because I have so many things on the go at once!

Herbal Essences - tousle me softly

This is a nice enough shampoo and conditioner combo, it smells nice, but then what Herbal Essences products don't? I didn't feel they left my hair any more tousled, and I really did not like the styling cream that also comes in this range. I actually threw it away as I knew I would never use it. This leaves my hair clean and smelling nice, end of. I will not re-purchase for the tousled effect, but I probably would for the smell.

Wilkinsons - Sweet Vanilla & Honey, shower smoothie

Body Shop - Pink Grapefruit, body scrub

I actually ran out of both of these near enough around the same time, it was just after I got back from my holiday to Spain and I was trying to extend my tan and make myself look glowing. I would happily re-purchase both of these products. Now I know people might think - Wilkinsons show smoothie, I think not! But the smell of this product is amazing!! I cannot gush anymore over this product! If you like sweet smells, then this is for you! I actually have the shower gel as well which I love. I will also be re-purchasing the Body Shop body scrub, but I might try another scent, as I do love them all.

ASDA - Essential Care, Extra firm hold hairspray

Avon - Advance techniques, split end repair

The hairspray is just a generic hairspray, I probably bought this when I had run out of my normal one and needed something to tide me over. I use this when I am doing up dos as I don't mind the crunchiness of it then. The Avon split end repair, is actually a really nice product, It left my hair feeling soft and definitely stronger. It also lasted me a long time, so I will have to check out the next Avon catalogue to check its still available.

Mitchum - Advanced deodorant

Skinology - Tea Tree, deep cleansing facial wipes

Intensive Spa - Citrus moisturising hair mask

To be honest the only thing I would repurchase out of these 3 would be the deodorant! I am normally a Dove worshipper, but I bought this as it was on special offer, it didn't break me out, irritate my skin and did hold back the sweat! What more can I say?? The other 2 products were cheapies I bought to go away with, and neither of them floated my boat. But they served a purpose and were cheap and cheerful.

So what do you all think of empties posts? Do you enjoy fishing through peoples virtual bins like me? Let me know what you think, and also if you have tried any of the above products.

Concealer Trio

I am a new found lover of concealer. I never used to think it was something for me, or that it had any uses. However I have now come to the realisation that it was because I did not fully understand how to use it, or how much it could make a difference.

I now have 3 concealers that  use on a regular basis, and all 3 of them provide me with different coverage and have different uses. So here they are -

Collection Lasting Perfection (Medium 3)  -

This really is a hidden gem. To say this is a cheaper brand, this really does perform. It gives a fantastic colour pay off, and has fantastic coverage. I use this product to cover my spots or any dark marks I may have. This gets the most usage from myself.

2True 3 in 1 Concealer (Medium 3) -

This is a much shearer concealer, and it smooths out nicely. Again this is a cheap brand, and for the money you pay, you get exactly what is says. I use this for better skin days to just give myself a bit more coverage, or under my eyes when I am wearing little makeup.

Rimmel London Match Perfection (030 Classic Beige) -

I LOVE Rimmel foundations! This is just as good as their foundations, I use it under my eyes as it goes on so smoothly and means I can apply it gently with no dragging to the delicate eye area. It provides me with enough highlight to disguise any dark circles, but not enough to make it look obvious. The brush applicator also means you can pin point exactly where you want the product as well, a nice little touch.

 L - R   2True, Collection & Rimmel
Just applied, Top - Bottom   2True, Collection & Rimmel
Gently rubbed in, Top - bottom   2True, Collection & Rimmel

As you can see all 3 products smooth in nicely and give a good colour pay off. Why by high end, when these 3 drugstore beauties are so good?

Does anyone else have any favourites?

Kitoko Hair Oil

Kitoko is a brand that I can across by accident. I was having my hair cut in my partners aunts salon, when I was moaning about the condition of my hair. His aunt went and got a bottle and gave it to me to try. When I went home that evening I did a little bit or research about the product and saw that it was an up and coming product and not alot had been said about this yet.

I have now been using the product for around 4 weeks now, and I cannot praise it enough. It really has helped keep my hair under control and keep my ends in better condition. I use this oil morning and evening usually. I tend to put a few drops in my hair whilst it is still damp in the mornings, and then add a few more once I have styled my hair if I feel I want a bit more control over it. I then apply normally around 10 drops in the evening before I go to bed. I wash my hair everyday (naughty I know, however spending alot of time on a farm and around animals means I do tend to get dirty quite quickly) and if I put this on before I go to bed I feel it acts as a bit of a mask, and it does make it nicer to wash in the morning.

Now with the use I've been getting out of this oil, and for the amount of time I've been using it, I can happily say that I have not even got the oil to the top fo the label yet! Talk about value for money! You can buy Kitoko hair oil from LushDuck with prices starting from £6.50 for the smaller size.

Kitoko hair oil in made in the UK and contains no Parabens.
It does however contain - Vitamin A & E, Karite Oil, Argan Oil and a naturally derived UV filter.

Does anyone else use hair oil? And if so what ones and what do you think? Are they worth the hype?

NOTD

So as you all saw in my mini haul I purchased some Barry M nail gellys. Today I have been wearing the colour Blueberry 235 with a top coat of Maybeline Express Finish in Flash Cosmic 840.

I find the Gelly quite thick and you get a really good colour pay off. I will certainly be purchasing more of these colours. I can see them being staples in my collection. And the Maybeline Express Finish gives it a really nice almost iridescent finish. Definitely a great combo.

Has anyone else tried these? If so why do you think?

Mini Haul

Now I love seeing peoples hauls and having a bit of a geek at what they have been buying. It just makes me want to go out and spend whatever pennies I have in my wallet, which maybe is not the best thing? So this weekend I went out with my list of things that I wanted to inspect and purchase, and my wallet burning a whole in my pocket. Now I have to admit that I am a horrendous shopper! I can go out with a list of things, and not once will my list come out of my pocket whilst shopping. I get distracted by all the signs and bright colours that I completely forget what I went out for.

Anyway I digress, so I went out and bought nothing that I had planned to buy! But I did buy some lovely things.

Boots -

So as everyone knows Boots are currently running their 3for2 offer across the store, I managed to buy some lovely things for myself, along with a bunch of things that will be going into an international swap that I am doing with Min from minandmegs you can find their Twitter here. So what did I buy....

Barry M Gelly in Blueberry 235
Barry M Gelly in Blackberry 237
Barry M Gelly in Watermelon 237
Barry M Nail Paint in Pink Saphire Glitter 352
Barry M Nail Paint in Black Multi Glitter 333
Barry M Limited Edition Orange Web Effects 239
Revlon Lip Butter in Strawberry Shortcake 080
Plus all my things for Min, that will stay secret ;) Although I am tempted to repurchase these for myself.

(Apologies for not all items photographed)

Lush -

I am a new convert to Lush products. I am not a fan of their soaps, as nice as they smell they just don't react well with my skin as it is already very dry and easily flairs up. But I do love the scents of their other products and anything sweet is good in my books, so I wanted to try some of their sweeter items people have recommended.....

Lush Snowfairy Shower Gel
Lush Popcorn Lip Scrub

As I said this was a mini haul, and most of it consisted of nail varnishes? Anywho, I'm sure hoping to get back to boots before the 3for2 runs out and purchase more things for myself. And I will certainly be putting up reviews of all the products once I've finished playing with them :)

Let me know if there is anything you like, or anything else you can recommend.

My obsession.......

MASCARA!!!!

That's right people, I am OBSESSED with mascara. If I go out of the house in the morning with only 1 thing on, it must be mascara. I love the feeling it gives me when I have big fluttery lashes, whether it be to just pop up to the horses in the morning or to go out on the town. I feel by putting on mascara I immediately brighten up my face, and add definition to it. I always wear black mascara, as I don't feel brown gives me enough oomph, and I'm not interested in looking natural ;) I do on the odd occasion add a bit of colour on top, but I'm 95% black all the way.

Anyway, here are a few of my faves. Apologies for rubbish pictures, I'm having real issues with my camera :( If anyone can recommend a good one, it would be greatly appreciated.

The Body Shop - Big and Curvy Mascara

This mascara I have in normal and waterproof. I tend to wear this mascara when I just want an everyday mascara that is not too flashy, but is very black. The applicator is very thin, which means I can get in close to the base of my eyelashes and get good definition. This isn't a great mascara for when you want big winged out lashes or lots of curl and length.

The Body Shop - Super Volume Mascara

This is my tied favourite mascara of all time! I love the way I can build this mascara up and make it as thick and extravagant as I want it to be. The brush is really well bristled, which means I can really get into the base of my lashes and drag them up and out (which I LOVE). If I curl my eyelashes and then use this, I am guaranteed thick lustrous lashes that last all day with no flaking.

Maybeline - The Falsies Volume Express Mascara - Flared

This is my other tied favourite mascara of all time. Now I may sound odd here, but I like this mascara the older it gets, I like it when it has started to dry out a bit, as I feel it goes on better and I get better use from the brush. As when it is brand new I find it very slick going on, which to me means it is harder to build up. The applicator is brilliant, I can get real curl out of this mascara and really pull my lashes out and wing them easily. Also this provides me with minimal flakage ;)

MUA - Every Lash, Volume and Lengthening Mascara

I cannot believe that this mascara is only £2!! £2 for a brilliant mascara?!?!? What have I done to deserve this? Anywho.... as some of you may know, I have horses and regularly compete them and spend lots of my time outdoors and getting messy. This mascara is THE most amazing waterproof mascara I have ever tried. I can put this on first thing in the morning, when I'm dashing round to get ready for a competition or to go to the yard, and know that it will look as good after 12+ hours at a busy show or after a busy day at a competition. I am also allergic to dust and fur (don't ask why I still keep horses, even though I suffer because of this) so I regularly have watery eyes or very itchy eyes, and this mascara does not flake or budge even if I'm having a bad eye day. It gives me good definition and gives my eye lashes a slick and shiny look. The only bad thing I have about this mascara, is that it is quite hard to get off when you want too. It comes off in tubes, and I find the best way to get it off is to use hot water to loosen it and then roll my eyelashes through my fingers and work it off. I have however never suffered from panda eyes using this.

MUA - Clear mascara - £1

I use this mascara as a "top up" mascara, meaning I use it to update my mascara through out the day. So instead of piling on layer after layer of black mascara, I use this to give it a bit of a top up and brighten it throughout the day, whilst avoiding flaking. I also use this as my eyebrow setter, and it works really well for this too.

So there you are, there is a little look into one of my obsessions, and one of the reasons I love beauty blogs and read them. I love looking for new mascaras, and trying them out. So if any of you have any good ones you think I should try, let me know.

So if any of you have ant recommendations for mascara, my ears are open ;)

Nails of the week

Well as some of you know, I normally have gel overlays on my nails. With working with animals and doing alot of yard work it means my nails take a battering. I find having gel voerlays mean my nails don't break anymore and look presentable at all times. Which doesn help when I have to go from mucking out stables to then working in a busy office within 30 minutes each morning.

However, I have decided my nails need a break as they were starting to become very weak. So I am giving them atleast a few weeks off. So I can treat them a bit, and also go back to painting them and changing them as often as I like. It'll also mean that I can save a few pennies!

So this brings me to my nails of the week. I'm really digging glitter nail varnishes at the moment, and am loving the layered look. So this week I've had Barry M - Mint green as my base, with a top coat of Rimmel - 500 Disco Ball.

I also did a bit of a haul this week, so expect me to be posting some more of these. Let me know if you like them, or if you have any other great layering techniques :)

Multi tasking life saver

I have 1 item, that I have used for around 5 years now on a daily basis. I always carry this product in my handbag, have it by the side of my bed and I reach for it whenever I have a bad skin day or suffer a burn from my victorian old straightners. This products acts as a brilliant lip balm and gloss, and also gives my skin a dewy finish when applied to my cheeks. I have also been known to apply this product to one of my animals, if they have had a small cut or graze.

So what is this amazing product you ask me....... Elizabeth Arden 8 hour cream. Yes this little tube of cream, that looks a little old fashioned and almost as if it should belong on your grannies dressing table, is actually my most used and beloved beauty product I have ever used! As soon as I start to come to the bottom of a tube I make sure to go and get a new one. However I have been using this product for around 5!years now, and I am only now coming to the end of my 3rd tube!

I cannot rave more about this product! I reccomend it to everyone I can, and never have a bad thing to say about it. So if your ever around and spot it, make sure you get yourself some ;)

Bath and Body Works Candles

I am in love with scented candles, especially now that the evenings are drawing in and everything is cooler. I enjoy nothing more than sitting and relaixng, reading a book or watching a movie, all whilst the room is filled with a lovely scent :)

I usually burn scented oils in an oil burner, and my make of choice is usually The Body Shop. During the summer I tend to burn fruity and refreshing scents. So once everything started getting cooler I started to look for more wintery scents. I have seen sooo many people talk about Bath and Body Works candles, and being unfortunate enough to live in the UK where there are no stores, I found myself desperate to try some. The age old you want what you can't have syndrome!

Fortunately for me a lovely lady I have meet on Twitter @Kokosecrets (here is a link to her blog - Blog ) just so happened to be getting some Bath and Body Works candles in. As soon as I found this out I knew I had to make sure I got some from her. I was able to order them before I went away on my holiday, so when I got back I had a lovely present waiting in my house :)

The 3 scents I ordered from Victoria were -

Marshmallow Fireside

A sweet-toasty end to a long cold day - toasted marshmallows and simptuous vanilla cream blend with the comforting aroma of rich smoldering woods

Pumpkin Caramel Latte

Gather with friends and celebrate the season with this warm, rich blend of creamy pumokin, spiced caramel and sweet cream

 Frosted Cupcake

A true food-lovers delight - fresh vanilla bean, sugar, cake batter and rich buttercream frosting mix it up and create an irresistible scent

Now all 3 of these candles are so well scented, and burn really nicely and very evenly so far. I do have to say that I think my favourite scent is  Marshmallow Fireside, it smells actually quite manly and sweet, and even my other half doesn't mind it!

Anywho, here is a picture I posted on Twitter the other day. Hope you all like it and if you have any recoomendations for scented candles, make sure to let me know ;)

Blush woes

At this very moment in time I am currently feeling very sorry for myself :(

You see my problem is that I cannot find a flattering blush for my face. I have tried many different brands, collections, colours and textures. And I am yet to find one I am 100% satisfied with. I think I find the one, then I catch a glimpse of myself in a shop window with what looks like a bit of mud smeared across my cheek, and it makes its way to the back of my blusher drawer.

I find blushers are either too dark, too orange, too pink, too chalky, too glittery, too pigmented or not pigmented enough. You can see where I'm going here..........

This is why I have come to the realisation that I need help. I'm not sure whether it is the way in which I apply it or the product, but I just can't seem to obtain that gorgeous flushed face look.

So if anyone out there has any tips to point me in a better direction with my search for a good blush for me, then they would be greatly appreciated.

Beauty Ethics?

Do they exist?

Coming from a rural/farming background I think it makes me automatically more aware of how the way products are produced and manufactured from the word go. However, it never used to even cross my mind when it came to my beauty products........ why I do not know, but it just didn't. I mean I've always loved The Body Shop and the fact that they do not test on animals at all, and that they try to use Fair Trade items wherever possible. But I never questioned any of my other favourite brands.

I think recently with more natural brands and products becoming available, and them being of high quality and reasonable price, people are starting to question what it is they are purchasing and using. I find myself more and more now searching for Organic, Natural, Cruelty Free and Environmentally friendly products. This isn't me suddenly deciding that I want to hug trees and burn my bra! (I want to do neither, I think running on the treadmill would be a little uncomfortable if I did this) But it is me starting to actually think about what I purchase rather than buy then think after.

Also are brands now becoming more aware of the effect they can have on the environment and also what they promote to their customers. If Brands were more willing to change small things and encourage kinder products, in a few years would it be the norm for people to buy organic/fair trade shampoo, or have a make up bag filled with products not tested on animals? People seem to be aware of these things on products they consume, however it is not made clear to people about what they put on themselves.

So this is my question to all others -

Do you consciously consider what you buy before you buy it, or do you like me buy before you think?

And if you had the choice would you change your usual products to more natural and kinder products if you could find substitutes?

Can't wait to hear all your thoughts.

EOS vs Balmi

So.... I have read LOADS of reviews about EOS lip balms and also Balmi lip balms. I have been desperate to try out both products, as I am a sucker for wanting to try what other people are trying! So after going on a bit of a beauty splurge recently I managed to purchase both products to try. Here are my views on both -

EOS Lip Balm

I purchased this from a seller on Ebay, as EOS is not available in the UK. I purchased the Honeysuckle flavour, which as you can see from the pictures comes in a light green colour packaging.
I could not wait to try this product, and as soon as I opened up the envelope I had to put it on my lips! I've tried this a few times now, and I have to say I am really disappointed with it. I don't feel as though I get any moisturisation on my lips from this, I almost feel as though this dries out my lips more than anything. It also leaves a strange texture on my lips (very hard to explain this), almost as if I have been eating anything greasy? The scent on this product is also no where near as strong as I thought it would be. I was expecting a fresh floral scent that would be nice for the rest of the summer, however I find it hard to get anything from it. I love the packaging of this product, but am just so annoyed that what is inside does not match the outside.

Balmi lip balm

I purchased this Balmi from my local Boots store whilst they were doing a 3 for 2 on lip care (I think this deal is still going on), I purchased the Raspberry flavour, which comes in lovely bright pink packaging.
I wasn't as excited to try this product, only because I've not heard as many people discuss it and give reviews. I was expecting this to be just a knock off of the EOS products, I could not of been more wrong! As soon as I tried this product, I fell in love! I could smell the fresh Raspberry scent as soon as I opened the packaging, it was subtle and fruity and not overly sweet. This seems to melt on contact with your lips, meaning it goes on smoothly with no dragging and leaves a thin glossy looking sheen to the lips. I found this product lasted quite well on my lips, and didn't seem to slip or get on my teeth or tongue like I find some lip balms do. This product left my lips feeling soft and moisturised, and is almost on par wit my beloved Elizabeth Arden 8 hour Cream!

End Verdict -

I will continue to use both products, so I can give them both a fair chance and test them in different situations. HOWEVER, at this moment in time, my vote goes with Balmi hands down! This is my current favourite lip balm, and I will be adding to my collection very soon! Not only is this more easily available in the UK, it my eyes it is a far superior product. I can't wait to see if Balmi bring out any other products in the future.

Gym bunny (in the making)

So with weddings galore this year, a holiday in Spain and me just fed up of feeling frumpy! I decided to dance with the devil and get a gym membership! Duh duh duuuh .................... Ok so it's not really THAT scary, however I have signed up on a 6 month contract, which I'm hoping will be a good enough reason to make me go. As I certainly do NOT want to waste a chunk of money each month. Also my older sister has membership there and she said she was starting to slack, so we're hoping we can motivate each other.

Now I for one do quite enjoy doing exercise and getting a bit sweaty, however I get very self conscious of the "taller, slimmer, more tanned and dramatically fitter" lady that always seems to pick a machine next to me and run rings round me without appearing to break a sweat. Seriously what is up with that?!?! Now I know going to the gym isn't really a place to wear makeup and worry what you look like, but I do feel a little better about myself if I have at the minimum killer eyebrows and fluttering lashes (not that I want to bat them at anyone, especially the hip swivel man who I always seem to make eye contact with whilst either him or I are in a compromising position!). So after having been going for a few weeks I have come up with my "gym face", this consists of the following items-

Mascara - currently either MUA every lash mascara in waterproof black, The Body Shop curvy waterproof mascara or Maybeline falsies mascara. I normally prefer a waterproof mascara for the gym, as I don't want to worry about any smudging or flaking whilst I'm getting all hot and sweaty, and wiping my face down. I also always curl my lashes before hand.

Eyebrows - I am currently addicted to MUA's eyebrow pencil in brunette and their Standard clear mascara. I am in love with both of these products as I feel the pencil is creamy and it applies well enough to give me a subtle feathery look, almost the same effect I would get from using a powder or wax. I am starting to like my eyebrows a bit heavier at the moment, I feel they frame my face better and make my eyes more prominent. And the clear mascara goes on nicely and slicks them down just enough to avoid crazy brows after a work out.

Lip balm/gloss - now I don't like to wear much on my lips, for fear of the dreaded sweaty upper lip and having it run onto my chin! However I find in most gyms (especially the one I go to) they have the air conditioning on pretty high and after being in their for an hour my lips feel parched. So I try and use my old faithful Elizabeth Arden 8hour cream or a good solid lipbalm such as chap stick. I avoid things that melt too much such as Vaseline or gloppy glosses as they just don't do the job.

Face - I DO NOT use blush! Heck my face goes beetroot red just looking at the entrance to the gym, I certainly don't need to make this more obvious. Instead I use my Rimmel stay matt powder all over, and then my ELF cool bronzer to add a touch of contour and subtle colour to my face. I also feel that by doing this it helps even out the redness once I get going.

So there you go, that is what I do for when I go to the gym. I also feel this look is good enough for me to be able to go out in public with after I've finished at the gym incase I need to pop somewhere or I'm heading straight to work after. Why don't you let me know about any strange places you wear make up and what your weapon of choice is.

Time flies .......

So even though I've only really started this blog, I still feel bad I haven't blogged anything for a week! I'm going to go home tonight and possibly do a little blog about my favourite things! Although how exactly I am going to decide which things are my favourites, I do not know!!

I have also been making bracelets this weekend, bit random I know, but I am planning on selling them for charity. I am doing a BIG challenge next year, I am planning on cycling 800km in 8 days across Sri Lanka for genesis research charity. I will put a little post up about that later aswell, and possibly put a little link to my just giving page.

Anyways, this was just a little catch up blog.

Superdrug Vitamin E hot cloth cleanser

So, as you may know I bought 2 boxes of the vitamin e hot cloth cleanser from Superdrug yesterday. It is currently on special offer, normally it is £5.99 for 1 box but at the moment it is 2 boxes for £3.99! Talk about steal! Now I had seen a few people talk about this on Twitter and thought whilst it is on offer I would give it a go.

This is a picture of the packaging -
The packaging isn't anything spectacular, but it is quite cute!

And here is what comes in the box -
You get a 200ml tube of the cleanser, plus a fairly good sized muslin cloth.

Now the directions on the box say to gently massage the cleanser into your face and neck in circular motions, then using the muslin cloth to wipe it off with hand hot water. You should rinse your face with cool water to finish the process.

I used this yesterday as I wanted to give it a go. As soon as I opened the tube I was met with the most wonderful smell! It smells really clean and kind of like baby powder. It is really subtle and makes it seem really luxurious I think. I only used a small amount of the cleanser, and this was plenty. It rubbed in really nicely, and did not feel at all greasy. However I think my favourite part was rinsing it off with the hot water and muslin cloth, the cloth is very light weight but has just enough abbrasivness (correct word?) so you can feel it on your skin and feel it cleaning it. Using the hot water and the cloth made my face feel so refreshed, and you can definately see what muck is coming off of your face! (yuck) My face felt nice and smooth and clean afterwards, and with me having sensitive skin, I felt no irritation or tightness.

I also like the fact this this product is suitable for vegetarians and vegans, and that Superdrug are against animal testing.

I will definately be buying this product again, especially if I can get my hands on it whilst it is on offer again. I may even stock up very soon. As I like to save my pennies!

Hope you've all enjoyed this,

Shopping!

So today I had a quick trip into town, mainly to do some banking and run some errands. This then ended with me having a quick sneaky look in superdrug to see what was on offer.

An of course I saw plenty of things I wanted to buy! And there were a few good deals on aswell. Here is a list of what I bought-
Vitamin e - hot cloth cleanser (normally £5.99 each, however at the moment it is 2 for £3.99)
MUA eye shadow palette - Glitter Ball
MUA eye shadow palette - Glamour Days
MUA lip gloss - shade 5
2true cheek and lip tint - rose
2true cheek and lip tint - blush pink
2true 3 in 1 concealer - shade 3
2true nail varnish - shade 27
(all 2true products were any 3 for £4.99, plus a free nail varnish when you bought 3 products)

So as you can tell I bought a few products, I've never tried the 2true range and thought whilst they were on offer I would give them a go and have a play. Also with the vitamin e cleanser I have heard soo many good things about it, I thought I would try it whilst it was on offer.

Any who I have included a picture of everything I have bought, and also a picture of my receipt to show how much I saved! The fact I saved over £10 is definitely making me feel much better. I'm off now to go play with my new things and find room for them in my ever shrinking storage space!

Fake Tan, Dark Sheets and the Kardashians

So... This weekend is a BIG weekend, and by BIG weekend I mean Hen Party (or should I say Bacholorette party). It's a family members wedding in less than 2 weeks, so we're off out for a "Kardashian" themed party. This means lots of leopard print, fake tan and BIG eyelashes!

I've started my preparation tonight by applying my fake tan. I like to use St Tropez foam fake tan applied with a tanning glove, however this time I have tried a so called dupe of this product St Moriz, again applied with a tanning glove. I have taken some before pictures and will make sure I post so after pictures when I get a chance, I might even compare the 2. Also I've already had my nails done (see previous post) so I'm almost ready to go.

If anyone has any tips of tricks that will get me looking as amazing as the Kardashian, it would be greatly appreciated.

Oops!

Well, I somehow just managed to order a total of 23 items from MUA in their 25% off sale. If you haven't checked it out already, I beg you to go have a look!

Can't wait for my parcel to arrive. This weekend I am hoping to do my first product reviews. Hope they are okay :)

Queen helene mint julep masque

I've heard great things about this mask, and with having spot prone skin (which is VERY spotty at the moment) I thought I really wanted to give this a go!

However living in the wonderful uk means it is not readily available to me over here. However thank you to the wonders of eBay, I have managed to get my hands on some. So as soon as it arrives I will make sure I do a quick review and let you all know what I think.

Here's hoping its as good as people say :)

New nails!

So this post is a week late as I've actually had my nails for a week already, however due to being really busy at work I've only just gotten around to posting.

Me and Sam (the girl who does my nails) both decided we wanted to try something new, so this week we went for a 3d minnie mouse inspired design. Hope you all like!

Nails galore!

Now, what none of you know is that as much as I love my beauty and all things pampering, I have a dirty secret. My dirty secret is that I am a horse rider and because of this spend most of my time in scraggy clothes on a smelly farm! So I spend most days with no make up on at all!

However, I have this thing about having nice nails. So the only thing I do religiously every 2 weeks is have my nails done. It's my little treat to myself. I normally just have a simple French manicure, with maybe the odd gem or bit of paint on, but recently I've been feeling more adventurous. Maybe this is because of the lack of summer to brighten my days.

So today was nail day, and we decided we'd try out some cute polka dots. I'm currently going through a cath Kidston and vintage phase, so thought they fitted quite well. Anyways have added a picture for you all to see, and I'm off to have a think about next time.

New beginnings and all that

Well, this is the first post of my new blog, and to be honest my first blog EVER. I've decided that with my love of all things beauty and cosmetic, and after being insanely jealous of other people posting you tube videos and blogs, I want in on the action. Please bare with me as I'm new to this, but I plan on posting a few new things in the next couple of days to explain a bit more about myself. I'm hoping this will help ease my beauty fascination ( and slight addiction ) rather than fuel it on. Speak soonMuch loveJ x
